Teddy’s Kitchen

Welcome to the Kitchen

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know all about Teddy’s Kitchen.  For those of you that aren’t familiar, my youngest son Theodore loves being in the kitchen (real or play).

There, now we are all caught up.

HOW IT STARTED.

I have to thank my mother-in-law for this one because I know Teddy did not pick up his love for being in the kitchen from me.  We have a play kitchen at home that he enjoys, but at her house he gets the play (cook) in the real kitchen.

This works out perfect for multiple reasons. First, the cooking mess happens at her house. Second, he brings all his baking treats home with him for all of us to enjoy.  (Thanks, Mom!)

As someone who loves to be creative and always looking for a project, I decided to make him some custom play food.

After my first simple creation of pancakes, the way his eyes lit up as he said, “You made this for me.” I was hooked.

My free pancake crochet pattern is available now.

I continued making play food items based on some of our favorite foods until his kitchen was overflowing with food options.  As the list of items has grown, I started on documenting my patterns, and I am sharing them here.
